About a year ago we did one of our most anticipated campaigns, and I also trained for my first 100 mile race.
Both events are physical and mental challenges, and I enjoy the process in both.
needless to say I'm a photographer first and a runner second, which would be my reasoning for not being able to finish 100 miles ( I accomplished to run 70 miles ,which up to date stands as my record as a runner ), but we did manage to create a beautiful photo campaign.
here i have a table comparing factors of these "marathons", that happened around the same time. I ran a weekend in Miami in between the two weeks of photos during the campaign in Bogota.
Training:
Photo Campaign: never stop training, and 10 years of working with this client.
Ultra marathon:
4 years since my wife bought me my first tennis shoes with a nike plus chip, more than 5 marathons, 2 ultra marathons and 6 months of training for this specific race.
Duration:

15 days from sunrise to sunset, and some pre production days
Ultra Marathon:
started at 5 am till 3 the next morning, 22 hours at 100 degree weather when the sun was up.
Co-workers:
photo campaign:
2 client creative directors, 1 executive director, 1 production director, 4 fashion designers, 2 graphic designers, 8 models (kids, women and men), 3 camera assistants, make up artist, hair stylist,2 chefs, 3 drivers, various gardners, and more.
Ultra marathon:
2 trainers,camilo and Edwin, 2 teams for water, that took turns through the 22 hour period, team1 :my wife susi and my son tomas. team 2: (good friends) Sandra and David, and a motivator (friend) Emilio, who ran 10 miles with me
Materials:
photo campaign: The clothing, about 500 GB of memory, a lot of food and a great ambient.
ultra marathon:2 pairs of tennis shoes, 5 gallons of water, 30 capsules of salt in a protein mix, carbohydrates and natural gels.

Hace casi un año por esta epoca, hicimos una de las campañas que mas esperamos, igual que entrene y espere la llegada de mi primera carrera de 100 millas, 150km, corriendo.
Ambos eventos son todo un reto intelectual y fisico, y en los dos casos disfruto mucho de todo el proceso .
Soy mejor tomando fotos que corriendo. y solo logre completar 70 de las 100 millas, que es mi record personal como corredor, pero si logramos hacer exelentes fotos para la campana.
A continuacion una tabla comparativa de datos de estos dos "maratones", que se cruzaron en el tiempo, y corri un fin de semana en Miami, en medio de las 2 semanas de fotos que duro la campaña en Bogota.

Desde hace mas de 20 años. Y de esos, 10 desarrollando un estilo con mi cliente.
Ultramaraton keys 100:
4 años desde que mi esposa me regalo los primeros tenis con chip Nike, mas de 5 maratones, 2 ultramaratones y 6 meses para para esta carrera.
Duracion del del evento
Campana fotografica: 15 dias desde antes del amanecer hasta entrada la noche, mas algunos dias de preproduccion.
Ultramaraton: 5 am a 3 am del otro dia, 22 horas en una temperatura de 37c durante el dia.

2 Clientes directores creativos , 1 director ejecutivo ,1 director de produccion , 4 disendoras de moda , 2 disenadoras graficas , 8 modelos mujeres hombres y niños , 3 asistentes de camara, maquillador, peinador, cocineras, conductores , varios jardineros, y otros .

2 entrenadores Camilo y Edwin, 2 equipos de aguateros que se turnaron : equipo 1: mi esposa y mi hijo Tomas, equipo 2: Amigos Sandra y David, y Emilio, que corrio 10 millas conmigo, mas el equipo de apoyo de la carrera.
